A poll for my feline readers
Following on from the previous post, what's your favourite type of litter?
We use silicon granules here for their superior smell reducing capabilities but the package promise that one bag will last for a month is absolute crock. Barely a week in our experience.
My criteria are lightweight, no smell, will not cause a disaster if small fragments end up down the toilet.

Have you tried the clumping kind? It makes scooping out the piddle easier.
i am not currently owned by a cat, but when i was we just bought whatever was cheap, clumped, and claimed not to smell. never had a problem.
I used to buy the one in those big yellow bags (can't think of the name - it's on sale everywhere - all the grocers stock it). Never had a problem with it. Very cheap.
